Meeting With AUA & WPI Students

About the Event:

We are delighted to invite you to a reception to meet the AUA and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) students who are participating in a unique study abroad program. The reception will take place on March 12, 2024 at 2:00pm in the Faculty Lounge.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to gain insights into students’ experiences during the study-abroad program, learn more about the collaborative projects the students are currently working on here in Armenia, ask questions about the study-abroad program, and more.

At the beginning of January, eight AUA students — Greta Khandanyan (BAB ’24), Mayis Jraghatspanyan (BAB ’25), Nona Hovhannisyan (BAEC ’24), Hakob Janesian (BSDS ’24), Emma Hovhannisyan (BSDS ’24), Mariam Yayloyan (BSDS ’25), Nazeli Ter-Petrosyan (BCS ’25), and Alesya Ghandilyan (BSES ’25) — embarked on a seven-week journey at WPI in preparation for their return to Armenia to work on several community-based projects. At WPI, this experience is called the Interactive Qualifying Project. Accompanying the students during the initial two weeks was Akian College of Science and Engineering Assistant Professor Dr. Hrachya Kocharyan, who is co-instructing the study abroad program with Norayr Ben-Ohanian. Dr. Kocharyan and Ben-Ohanian, along with their WPI colleague Dr. Karen Kashmanian Oates, will be present at the reception.
