Information Session on the Media and Information Literacy Hackathon

About the Event:

Are you passionate about media literacy, eager to combat propaganda and disinformation, and interested in Hackathons? If so, join us for an information session on the Media and Information Literacy Hackathon coming this May!

During the session, you will gain valuable insight into the application process for the Hackathon and delve into the crucial topics of propaganda, disinformation, media illiteracy, and the challenges Armenia faces in this regard.

Our guest speaker will be Bret Schafer, a renowned expert based in the U.S. who serves as a senior fellow and head of the Information Manipulation Team for the Alliance for Securing Democracy, German Marshall Fund. He is the creator and manager of Hamilton 2.0, an online open-source dashboard tracking the outputs of Russian, Chinese, and Iranian state media outlets, diplomats, and government officials.

Schafer will be joining us remotely to share his expertise on modern manifestations of disinformation and propaganda. He will present international best practices in addressing these challenges, offering key insights for all participants.
