The Cilician Massacres and the U.S. Press

About the Event:
The event will focus on a volume, The Adana Massacres (1909): Reports From The U.S. Press, which is a compilation of news reports and articles extracted from various American newspaper archives concerning the atrocities perpetrated in 1909 by the Ottoman Turks and Kurds against the Christian population, primarily Armenians, of the Adana province and adjacent districts.
About the Speaker:
Ara Ketibian, Genocide Scholar
Ara Ketibian is a graduate of the Mekhitarist Congregation College in Venice (Italy), specializing in Armenian studies. He has worked as a member of the editorial team of the Ararat Daily newspaper, one of the major Armenian-language newspapers in Beirut, Lebanon and has taught Armenian Language and History at the Melkonian Educational Institute (Nicosia, Cyprus).
Has combined his knowledge and expertise in Armenian studies, journalism, and investigative work to research American newspaper archives since 2007. To date, he has researched, edited, and published 14 volumes on the subject of the Genocide of the Christian population of the Ottoman Empire (Armenians, Greeks, and Assyrians).
