MBA Students Visit Krisp Technologies

YEREVAN, Armenia — The American University of Armenia (AUA) Master of Business Administration (MBA) program continues company visits aimed at immersing students in real-life business operations.

Given the program’s emphasis on furthering close academia-industry ties, this visit was organized by AUA adjunct lecturer Armen Avakian as part of the Start-up Management course. The visit envisaged the students’ learning about Krisp Technologies’ operations, its role in developing innovative software, and impact on revolutionizing the communication industry. The visit brought industry experience and expertise to the MBA program and enabled students to gain real-world insights into entrepreneurship and start-up management. 

Krisp Technologies is a California-based company founded by two Armenian entrepreneurs, Davit Baghdasaryan and AUA alumnus Artavazd Minasyan (MBA ’12) in 2017. It specializes in developing background noise canceling software, which can be integrated into various communication and recording platforms, such as video conferencing and streaming for a better user experience. The software can also be used in various industries, including healthcare, education, and finance.

Asti Pili, the հead of Growth at Krisp Technologies, welcomed MBA students and provided them with an all-encompassing introduction to the company’s origin, objectives, and accomplishments. She also elucidated the intricacies of Krisp’s software and its disruptive impact on the communication industry, enabling users to enjoy a seamless communication experience.

The students had the opportunity to interact with the company’s engineers and ask them questions about their work. Ruben Hasratyan (MBA ‘24), current student and senior ML engineer at Krisp shared the challenges they face when developing noise canceling software and elaborated on the advancement of new technologies.

The visit was enriching for the students, particularly in terms of gaining valuable insights into the complexities of running a successful technology company. They valued the chance to learn about Krisp Technologies’ operations, its impact on the communication industry, and the potential future developments of noise canceling technology. In addition to the insights into Krisp Technologies’ operations, the students gained an understanding of the critical role of innovation in the technology industry and how it can be utilized to improve user experience. This learning opportunity is particularly relevant to MBA education as it equips students with the competencies and mindset for analyzing and implementing innovative strategies in the corporate world.
