McGraw-Hill Digital Learning Consultant Meets AUA Program Chairs

YEREVAN, Armenia − On April 11-12, 2019, the American University of Armenia (AUA) AGBU Papazian Library hosted Bregje (Bee) Zinkhaan, Digital Learning Consultant for Greece, Malta, Israel and South-East Europe at McGraw-Hill, a learning science company. Zinkhaan had several meetings with AUA Program Chairs and presented the solutions that McGraw-Hill offers for AUA’s smooth transition to digital coursebooks.

“The key goal for me at this event was to help AUA find solutions that will help instructors flip their teaching but also make textbooks accessible and affordable for students,” stated Zinkhaan.

Acquiring textbooks and other printed course materials from abroad, as well as ensuring the necessary quantity for all AUA students, requires substantial financial resources. To overcome this issue, McGraw-Hill offers an affordable and effective way of using adaptive digital technology.

During the meetings, Zinkhaan showcased various online resources available at McGraw-Hill, including McGraw-Hill Connect®, which helps students master course content, leading to better educational outcomes.

“We are currently introducing a pilot project to AUA programs trying to allow instructors and chairs to test these learning materials and tools,” remarked AGBU Papazian Library Director Satenik Avakian. “We are trying to see which content and what delivery methods they need – whether they want a course management system like Connect or would prefer a bit more traditional approach like replacing a print book with an ebook. We are still exploring.”
