AUA Career Services Hosts Workshop on LinkedIn

YEREVAN, Armenia — On April 21, the American University of Armenia (AUA) Career Services organized a workshop on LinkedIn tools and benefits. The presenter was AUA alumna Mariam Sargsyan (BAB ’21), business growth strategist of BeeBrand Agency and initiator of LinkedIn Armenia.

Mariam first described LinkedIn, portraying it as a significant business and employment-focused social media platform, then expounding on how its use would contribute to reaching certain goals related to career development, headhunting, professional network development, and business improvement. She elaborated that, while nowadays there are different social networking platforms that serve similar purposes, LinkedIn is known for its high professional standards. Mariam went on showing and discussing the different components of a LinkedIn profile, showcasing her own profile as a live example. 

A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to the techniques aimed at helping LinkedIn users boost their private or business profiles. Mariam presented useful growth hacks and tricks based on her personal experience, including the dos and don’ts of maintaining active and visible accounts, adopting a clear strategy, and planning the frequency of posts. She emphasized that the more strategized one’s steps are, the better outcomes one will have, because LinkedIn is effective when well-organized.

The workshop concluded with a Q&A session, during which Mariam elaborated on the use of business profiles, emphasizing that one should be more careful and manage one’s page based on individual business strategy, rather than customizing it to LinkedIn.

AUA commends Mariam’s efforts of giving back to her alma mater. Overall, the workshop was informative and useful. Participating students learned about the important tools and benefits of LinkedIn, both as job seekers and potential entrepreneurs.
