About the Event:
Join us on April 18 at 3 p.m. in room 233W for the panel discussion titled “Should Georgia Be on Our Minds? A Conversation About the Latest Political Developments in Georgia,” during which Mariam Tokhadze, director at Georgian Center for Strategy and Development will discuss the latest political developments in Georgia. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session.
About the Speakers:
Mariam Tokhadze is the director of GCSD. Earlier in 2021, she was the deputy director of GCSD. She joined GCSD in January 2019 as director of the Terrorism Research Center. Mariam has a B.Sc. in politics and international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In 2017, she was awarded M.Sc. in security studies from the University College London (UCL). She possesses professional experience from various state institutions operating in the field of defense and security. She worked at the Ministry of Defense and the State Security Service of Georgia. She was also a policy officer within the framework of the technical assistance project of the European Union to the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Refugees and Accommodation. In her previous capacities, she participated in the elaboration of various strategic and national level documents as well as the policy planning process of respective agencies.
