Parametric Architecture

About the Event:
This presentation intends to share the experience of two Yerevan-based companies – Storaket and Skillshop – in the field of parametric architecture (computational design).
The presentation is comprised of two parts:
- Meroujan Minassian will talk about their experience in computation, as well as will elaborate on the application of parametric design in two projects of Storaket.
- Arek Keshishian will present hands-on experience of three parametrically designed and built projects located in Yerevan.
About the Speakers:
Meroujan Minassian is an architect and the co-founder of the “Storaket Architectural Studio” based in Yerevan. His projects span a wide range of construction types and design styles for educational, residential and community centers, as well as interior designs for educational institutions. His projects are published in local and international journals and online platforms. He has been lecturer for eight years at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.
Arek Keshishian is an architect, teacher, and an advanced geometry specialist. His curiosity runs through realization of projects that involve computation and digital craft. He is the founder of Skillshop, a high-end research lab for architects and designers that trained over 2000 students and professionals over the course of three years. Arek is a co-author of various computationally designed and realized projects.
