AUA Extension Course: Executive Communication

The course is organized into three core topics of verbal business communication, written business communication, and presenting. A special emphasis is placed on influencing action in the workplace by leading more effectively through well-organized and successfully-executed business communication strategies. Participants learn how to create carefully planned and confidently delivered emails, presentations, memos, action plans, blog and business entries, and other forms of business communication. Course topics are presented in videos, an interactive email-writing exercise along with multiple writing and visual examples. The course also includes checklists, templates and other resources. Each of the three topic areas concludes with an exam to reinforce learning objectives and assess progress.
Course Outcomes:
At the conclusion of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Describe the principles of written, verbal and non-verbal management communication
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of common barriers to effective communication in business, on all levels including the executive level
- Create and deliver business-type presentations to executive-level audiences
- Write effective emails, memos, and business report
Prerequisite: This course will be taught in English. A minimum of pre-advanced level English is required for participation in this workshop.

Instructor:
Sergey Tantushyan, PhD
Sergey Tantushyan is a management consultant with 10 years of experience in strategic planning, project implementation and strategy advice. He has worked at the Central Bank of Armenia and served as an expert at the OSCE office in Yerevan. Sergey gained his MBA from Brandeis International Business School (Boston) in 2011. He also holds a M.Sc. in Economics from Yerevan State University, an MCLS from the American University of Armenia and a Doctorate degree in Finance and Economics from the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia (2007). As a 2006 Fulbright Fellow, he pursued studies in Strategic Development and Global Economy at Dickinson College, Pennsylvania. Sergey also is an alumnus of the Eurasia Executive Leadership Program (2008), University of Cambridge, U.K
