Basic Concepts in Quantum Computing – Qubits
< 1 min readYEREVAN, Armenia – On May 6th, the American University of Armenia (AUA) College of Science & Engineering hosted a public presentation on Quantum Computing led by CIS Student Karlen Manaseryan. The presentation introduced qubits and their basic properties, and a brief overview on Quantum Physics with emphasis on the fundamental differences between the microscopic quantum and macroscopic classical worlds. In addition, Karlen provided a definition of quantum circuits, and a demonstration of a simple quantum algorithm that illustrated quantum parallelism.
Karlen Manaseryan is a Computer and Information Science (CIS) student working on his Master’s Thesis in Quantum Computing (supervised by Suren Khachatryan).
