LegalLab Law Boutique, Founded by AUA Alumni, Becomes First Armenian Law Firm to Launch a US Office

YEREVAN, Armenia – Yerevan-based LegalLab Law Boutique (LegalLab), whose founders are two American University of Armenia (AUA) alumni, has recently become the first Armenian law firm to establish an office in the United States. A video, produced in December to mark the occasion, featured LegalLab’s management team and its staff.

Stepan Khzrtian (LL.M., ’10) and Narek Ashughatoyan (LL.M., ’10) launched LegalLab in 2012 with the goal of assisting Armenian businesses to expand internationally and foreign companies to enter the Armenian business sphere. To further this goal, the founders forged partner relations with firms in nine countries, culminating, most recently, in the establishment of their US office.

“Our primary focus is to assist our clients in legal matters at every step of the way,” Khzrtian said. “Our clients feel at ease, knowing that we can represent their legal interests in geographically diverse locations.”

“LegalLab is a business with a mission,” Ashughatoyan added.  “We aim to support key business actors in Armenia and help them access international markets, which, in turn, will allow us to have a direct impact on various industries in the Armenian economy.”

In addition to Ashughatoyan and Khzrtian, other AUA-affiliated members of LegalLab include, Satenik Nubaryan, junior associate at LegalLab and co-organizer of the Intellectual Property Summer Academy, held in collaboration with AUA; Arman Arzumanyan, also junior associate at the law firm and AUA Law Program alumnus (LLM ’15); and Elizabet Mamikonyan, LegalLab legal assistant and prospective student with AUA’s Law Program.
