AGHAVNATUN, Armenia The American University of Armenia (AUA) proudly announces the establishment of new dental services in the village of Aghavnatun, Armavir province, supported by the Entrepreneurs in Health (EIH) program of the AUA Turpanjian College of Health Sciences.

Dr. Lusine Grigoryan is a family dentist with 16 years of experience. She is also a member of the Elder’s Council of the Khoy enlarged community. In pursuit of her dream, she established a dental clinic in her home village of Aghavnatun, home to around 3,200 residents located in Armavir province and included in Khoy extended community.

Dr. Grigoryan successfully completed the mandatory training in entrepreneurship and healthcare quality assurance as part of the EIH program, subsequently developing and presenting her business and quality assurance plans, both of which were approved by the EIH Executive Committee. As a result, she qualified for financial assistance to procure necessary equipment and receive the program’s support for continual professional development and participation in public health initiatives in the region.

The opening ceremony of Dr. Grigoryan’s new clinic took place on February 10. Her colleagues from the Elder Council, family members, and friends, as well as village residents and EIH program representatives, were present during the event.

The EIH program will continue to mentor Dr. Grigoryan with professional advice in healthcare quality assurance, preventive dentistry, operational and financial management, and other relevant topics.

The aim of the Entrepreneurs in Health (EIH) program is to improve access to quality health services in rural communities of Armenia through the introduction of advanced technologies and innovative approaches to support healthcare professionals in developing private health practices.
