Hope for the Future: Empowering AUA Students From Artsakh

2 min read

GLENDALE, California — The American University of Armenia (AUA) is committed to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to receive a quality education, regardless of their circumstances and means. As Giving Tuesday draws near, taking place on November 28 this year, AUA is preparing to observe this global day of generosity with a special focus on Artsakh. In that regard, we are reaching out to you with an urgent appeal to enable us to meet the unprecedented challenges our students from Artsakh are facing under the prevailing circumstances.

The recent crisis in Artsakh has left countless families displaced and struggling for their daily lives. Among those affected are the families of our bright, earnest, and aspiring students who are determined to complete their education despite the recent turmoil. According to the current AUA student enrollment records, there are 50 undergraduate and graduate students from Artsakh studying in various programs. Recently, the Manoogian Simone Foundation earmarked funding to cover these students’ tuition expenses for the current academic year. This significant and generous assistance will relieve these students and their families of the financial burden of tuition fees so they may focus on their studies and other life priorities. It is equally important, however, to ensure that these students continue to receive financial support that would allow them to stay in school until they have attained their educational goals, as well as a surge of new students from Artsakh who will be welcomed to AUA in the next academic year.

For this purpose, AUA is launching a dedicated Giving Tuesday campaign this year particularly intended for continuing to provide these deserving students from Artsakh with tuition assistance so they may successfully complete their education without unintended deferral.

Your support is instrumental to help mitigate some of the challenges that these students are facing. This earmarked financial aid will cover the cost of their tuition and associated expenses. Such support will intently signal our collective encouragement of their sustained effort and belief in their determination to attain significant academic and professional heights.

Together, we can uplift the lives of these striving students from Artsakh. Your generosity will not only provide them with the means to continue their education and accomplish their goals but will also instill in them a sense of hope, purpose, and belonging.

Thank you for standing with us during this crucial time. Together, we can empower AUA students from Artsakh to overcome unprecedented adversity and build a brighter future for themselves in Armenia. To support AUA students from Artsakh, visit the giving page here
