AUA Hosts Alumni Wine & Talk Event With Artak Tovmasyan

2 min read

The Wine & Talk events hosted by the American University of Armenia (AUA) Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) have already graduated from a newly introduced series to a highly anticipated tradition. On October 25, the third of the Wine & Talk series was hosted in AUA’s Akian Art Gallery. This time, the distinguished guest speaker was entrepreneur and benefactor Artak Tovmasyan, chairman of the board at Seven Visions Resort & Places, The Dvin and founder of “Tovmasyan Charity Foundation,” for which he also serves as chairman of the board of trustees. The Foundation’s projects support advancing science, culture, and sports in Armenia, as well as the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Moldova, Africa, and other countries.

AUA alumni interested in entrepreneurship, charity projects, and business development enjoyed the exclusive opportunity to ask questions and engage in an informal discussion with Tovmasynan. The Akian Art Gallery was filled with excitement and curiosity while the guest speaker shared his life experience and professional journey with alumni of various years and programs, all of whom shared the same desire to learn more about the paths upon which successful professionals have embarked. One after the other, the attendees asked questions, which ranged from Tovmasyan’s rich experience as an accomplished entrepreneur and his expertise in the service industry to the projects of the Tovmasyan Foundation in Armenia and internationally, the life lessons he learned, and his formula for maintaining a work-life balance. Tovmasyan advised AUA alumni to believe in their ideas and reach their aims through honesty and hard work.

By the end of the event, the guests engaged in one-on-one conversations with Tovmasyan and enjoyed the astonishing view from the Akian Art Gallery while tasting wine and snacks. This time, the premium series of wines was generously gifted by Karas Wines, complementing the delightful mood lighting up the room.

The event also offered AUA alumni the chance to catch up with their fellow alumni, meet new people, and network. Establishing new connections, learning about the experiences of successful professionals, and maintaining lifelong connections with their alma mater are what the Office of Alumni Relations hopes to provide alumni through these events. The smiling faces and expressions of satisfaction and gratitude marked the conclusion of one more successful Wine & Talk event.
