DAAD Information Session on the German Research Landscape

The DAAD supports over 100,000 German and international students and researchers around the globe each year – making it the world’s largest funding organization of its kind. It is a registered association and its members are German institutions of higher education and student bodies. The DAAD Information Center in Yerevan opened in 2004, and serves as a point of contact for all issues concerning the cooperation between Germany and Armenia in the field of higher education

The information session will be about the German Research Landscape, covering the following topics:
• Pillars of the German research sector (description of the research institutions in Germany)
• Funding opportunities in Germany for international researchers (PhD students, postdocs and senior researchers)

After the presentation the participants will have the possibility to ask questions and to take information material about Research in Germany.

 

silvia-webFrom 1989 to 1995, Silvia Schmid studied at the University of Bonn, Germany. She studied Communications science, General linguistics, and Psychology. From 1995 to 2015, she has worked at the head office of the DAAD in Bonn in different positions, i.a. team leader online communications.

Since September 2015, Sylvia Schimd is the head of the DAAD Information Center Yerevan and DAAD Lector for German at the Yerevan State University.
