Teaching in The Past or Teaching in the Present? Creating a Culture of Effective Communication in the Language Classroom

About the Event:

Intended for teachers of English, this seminar will focus on teaching how to create a culture of effective communication in the language classroom. For registration, please send your name and contacts to [email protected] until May 10, 2023 inclusively. Participants will be granted a certificate upon completion of the seminar.
 
About the Speakers:
  • Aleksandra Popovski is a teacher and teacher trainer with a strong passion for language education. She holds an M.A. in professional development for language education from the University of Chichester, where she deepened her knowledge and skills in the field. Her interests include incorporating visual arts into language teaching, exploring effective reading comprehension strategies, and creating original readers for her students. With her expertise and enthusiasm, Aleksandra is committed to helping her students succeed and grow as language learners.
  • Thom Jones has delivered training in over 70 countries. Before becoming director of operations USA for Studygroup, he returned to the U.K. to work with Trinity College London and now works with a range of organisations on a wide variety of projects. He is college principal for an international summer programme in Cambridge each summer. He presents regularly around the world on a range of topics and is a guest lecturer at four universities. He is also a freelance trainer in business and management.
  • George Kokolas has been working as the academic director and teacher trainer for Express Publishing for the last 23 years. He is a certified LEVEL 5 TEFL and ADVANCED Neurolanguage Coach®️. He holds a Level 5 Diploma in Positive Psychology and a Level 5 Diploma as a Positive Educator and Trainer. He also holds a B.A. in English literature. Since 2017, he has been the co-host and producer of the podcast Teachers’ Coffee. In 2022, he was acknowledged as a key ELT Influencer in his country. He has delivered over 1000 presentations in 97 countries!
  • Lilit Bekaryan combines a teacher trainer’s position in Peace Corps Armenia with university teaching. Her professional interests include teaching methodology, e-learning, assessment, online hate, and digital discourse. Lilit has a Ph.D. in English philology and is a DELTA qualified teacher. Apart from teaching, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, doing research, and practicing yoga.
