Mass Customization: The Future of Computer Aided Design and Manufacture, August 9 at 6 PM

Talk by Narine Mirzaeian

The talk will survey a spectrum of established and emergent technologies shaping the trajectory of design and manufacture internationally. It will examine the impact of technologies ranging from early computer aided design models that promoted the file to factory process to current explorations in robot fabrication.

About the speaker
Narineh Mirzaeian is a Los Angeles based designer whose work focuses on the development of dynamic building technologies integrating digital design and advanced fabrication techniques. Through her multidisciplinary practice she engages in design work at various scales, across a broad range of disciplines to study and cultivate works of spatial and material interest. Previously she was an Architectural Associate at Gehry Partners for eight years where she played a key role on numerous projects completed and under construction internationally. Prior to her tenure at GP, she was project designer at Graft, overseeing the realization of several award winning projects. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Southern California and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of California, Los Angeles where her thesis project, was published as part of the L.A. Now series garnering numerous awards, including the 2005 P/A Award. She is currently a lecturer at the University of California, Los Angeles.
