The Entrepreneurs in Health (EIH) program of the American University of Armenia (AUA) continues the scientific discussion series. The next discussion session will be held by Dr. Vahe Kazandjian, who is adjunct professor of the Health Policy and Management Department of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland, as well as EIH executive committee member.

About the Speaker: 

Dr. Vahé A. Kazandjian is a consultant in public health and quality of care to the American University of Armenia, Yerevan, Armenia. Previously he was principal at the Aralez Health LLC, a consulting group assisting healthcare organizations worldwide in achieving accountability through performance measurement. From 1987 till 2011, he served as senior vice president, the Maryland Hospital Association (MHA), and as president of The Center for Performance Sciences, a Maryland-based international outcomes research center. He is the original architect and the director of the Maryland Quality Indicator Project (QIP). 

Dr. Kazandjian is adjunct professor of the Health Policy and Management Department of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland. An epidemiologist by training he served as advisor to the World Bank for Latin America, to USAID for Africa, and as Scientific Advisor to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Europe office. He has presented at more than 450 conferences on measurement of quality of care, epidemiological investigative methods, and accountability about quality of care. He has authored four healthcare books and more than 70 articles on quality of clinical services and accountability.

He is also a literary writer, photographer, and painter. He is the author of six books of short stories and poetry. His poems have also been published in medical journals such as The Lancet and The British Medical Journal.
