2 min read

YEREVAN, Armenia – On Saturday February 27th, the AUA  Admissions Department hosted a public Open House for the graduate programs AUA has to offer. The programs featured were: Master of Laws, Master of Political Science and International Affairs, Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, Master of Science in Economics, Full-time Master of Business Administration, Professional Master of Business Administration, Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering and Systems, Master of Science in Computer and Information Science, Master of Public Health, Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and Certificate in Translation.

The Open House was a great opportunity to meet, network and mingle with the AUA faculty, department chairs, staff, alumni, students, and get a tour of the campus. At noon, the seats in Alex and Marie Manoogian Hall were filled as the main presentations about the admission process and financial aid requirements took place. The event was opened by AUA President Armen Der Kiureghian, proudly stating that what makes the University special and unique, is what he liked to call the ‘AUA Family’, which consists of a tight network of students, staff faculty and alumni. Many frequently asked questions were answered in the sessions that look place afterward in different classrooms throughout the campus, one of which, was held by the Admissions Department that explained each step in detail about the application process.

In the session about the MBA programs, many asked about the courses designed for those who work full time, and didn’t think it was possible to continue their education. Faculty members and the head of each department were available to talk about the courses and schedules. Students that are currently in those specific programs and on their way to graduation, were also there to give an inside perspective, Armenuhi Honakimyan, a graduate student of the MBA program, claimed that the valuable network and connections made at AUA are immeasurable, and that the available office hours for each professor has been a great deal of help and support for her. She noticed that the other universities haven’t seemed to adopt that method, and the community at AUA in general, is extremely empowering.

Another graduate student, Lorik Hartunian quoted, “AUA is an open opportunity for students to achieve knowledge of what they really want to accomplish academically and professionally. The faculty and staff genuinely help guide you in the right way, providing the essential tools in theory and practice. Not to mention the great connections that lead to amazing internships and job opportunities shortly after graduating”. She wasn’t too far off, the figures announced by Arina Zohrabian, Head of the Admissions Department, showed that 76.5% of AUA alumni secured jobs during their studies at AUA or within three months of graduating.
