TAVUSH, Armenia — The American University of Armenia is pleased to highlight the success of a recent business training session conducted in the Tavush region. Facilitated by the Turpanjian Rural Development Program (TRDP), in partnership with AUA Extension, the 31st training session attracted 14 dedicated trainees, guided by experienced instructors.

Representing eight communities, including the bordering villages of Tavush, and involved in diverse business ventures such as guesthouses and dairy production, the training participants seized the invaluable opportunity to grasp fundamental business management principles, including marketing strategies, financial literacy, and comprehensive business plan development. This business training stands at the cornerstone of TRDP’s mission to foster local entrepreneurship throughout Armenia’s rural regions.

The final day of the training session featured the presentation of business plans by the participants, along with the distribution of certificates and selection of the best trainee. Remarkably, one participant from this cohort displayed their commitment by returning for a third round with an initiative to expand their existing photo studio, underscoring the tangible value and impact of TRDP’s initiatives.

The success of this training session owes greatly to the tireless efforts of TRDP’s Tavush team. The group’s unwavering dedication to nurturing local talent and cultivating sustainable business practices has been instrumental in propelling this initiative forward. Zorair Kirakosian, the field operations director, extended heartfelt wishes for the success of the participants’ future endeavors, emphasizing the vital importance of continual growth and innovation in shaping a vibrant entrepreneurial landscape in the Tavush region.

The AUA Turpanjian Rural Development Program provides education, funding, and consultations to existing and startup businesses in the rural communities of Shirak, Tavush, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik, Lori, and Ararat provinces of Armenia, as well as in Javakhk, Georgia.
