YEREVAN, Armenia — On July 24, American University of Armenia (AUA) Master of Business Administration (MBA) students visited Coca-Cola HBC Armenia, a leading beverage company in the country. Led by AUA Adjunct Lecturer Armen Avakian, the students in the Marketing Management course had a guided tour of the factory and explored its business operations and environment.

The host company’s Country Manager, Arthur Sahakyan, welcomed the students and guided them to the Coca-Cola HBC Armenia Visitors Center, where his team presented a comprehensive overview of the company’s history, values, corporate sustainability efforts, and community initiatives.

The visit to Coca-Cola HBC Armenia continued with a tour of the renowned “Happiness Factory.” The students observed the entire production process and the plant’s application of state-of-the-art technology, from the intake of raw materials to bottling and packaging.

Marketing Manager at Coca-Cola HBC Armenia Yesayi Melik-Yolchyan briefed the students about the company’s incredible plans and strategies for marketing its beverages and successfully expanding and retaining various consumer groups. His expertise shed light on designing successful campaigns and navigating the challenges of a competitive market, leaving an indelible impression on the students.

Throughout the visit, the students were encouraged to ask questions and deliberate on important marketing features, greatly enhancing their learning experience. This unique opportunity to engage with professionals at Coca-Cola HBC Armenia complemented the students’ knowledge of marketing concepts and special characteristics employed by the company. Most importantly, this visit reinforced the theory taught in the classroom and helped the students observe practical concepts first-hand.

The collaboration between AUA and Coca-Cola HBC Armenia underscores the importance of industry visits for students’ holistic learning and development and the power of academia-industry partnerships. By fostering such relationships, the MBA program reaffirms its commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who possess the knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in their respective fields.
