Constitutional Reforms Informative Discussion

The Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and its reforms, this is currently the most actual topic of discussion and interest among politicians, political parties as well as citizens. Parliamentary and presidential governments are the two basic institutional setups of modern democracies. Both systems have their pros and cons and create somewhat different outcomes in terms of accountability, number of veto points, speed of decision-making, representation of minority views and so on. The presentation will discuss these two forms as types of democratic governance, with some empirical evidence on democratic performance of currently existing parliamentary and presidential states.
The other presentation will stress on the differences and peculiarities of the separation of powers, organization and establishment of several agencies, including judicial one, security and military affairs, some newly proposed aspects of the first Chapter of the Draft “Foundations of Constitutional Order”.
