The Student Research Conference is a student-led conference that showcases the research and scholarly activity of current and recent students in linguistics and applied linguistics. The mission of the SRC is to acknowledge the instrumental role of research in early academic development and celebrate and foster scholarly research conducted by students.
The invited keynote speaker, Dr. Naziha Ali Raza, will give an inspiring talk on using L1 in the classroom and will conduct a professional development workshop on how to set up an extensive reading program.
In addition, recruiters from leading educational institutions and organizations will attend the career fair that will be held in the framework of the conference. This will give an opportunity to conference attendees to interact with potential employers and discuss employment opportunities.

About the Speaker: Dr. Naziha Ali, President TESOL Arabia (2015-2016), has a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Continuing Professional Development from the University of Exeter, UK. She works at Emirates Airline as a Learning & Development Specialist involved in training, testing and evaluating. She has served as the Vice President Education of TESOL Arabia Toastmasters Club and as Board member of MENA Extensive Reading Foundation. Her area of specialization is Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and she is currently involved in multiple teacher training projects in Pakistan.
