YEREVAN, Armenia ‒ The American University of Armenia (AUA) Manoogian Simone College of Business and Economics’ (CBE) BA in Business (BAB) program has established a productive cooperation with Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (HBC) Armenia. In the framework of the BAB program’s Business Internship course, which was launched in 2016, this cooperation gave four BAB students the opportunity to conduct their internship at Coca-Cola HBC Armenia.

Upon successful completion of her internship, Arpine Melkonyan (BAB ’18) was offered a full-time position at Coca-Cola HBC Armenia effective as of April 2018. She noted that this internship course was a great opportunity for her to fully understand and explore her profession. Being an intern at the accounting department of Coca-Cola HBC Armenia, Melkonyan gained useful experience and developed practical skills that will be beneficial for her future career.

The BAB’s Business Internship course, established in spring 2016, is designed for AUA junior and senior students to prepare professionals equipped with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to enter the job market. In close cooperation with the AUA’s Alumni and Career Development Office (ACDO), the BAB program identified target companies and grew partnerships with local organizations. Having started with ten interns, the course now has on average 15 interns in public and private sectors per semester. The program constantly broadens the scope of cooperation and offers internships in various fields including financial services, private businesses, consulting, insurance, as well as tourism and hospitality.

Currently, the BAB program and Coca-Cola HBC Armenia are negotiating further collaborations through professional training and master class programs. One such initiative is the “Rise Program.” The Coca-Cola HBC Rise Management Trainee program is designed to challenge talented young graduates to kickstart their careers and to transform them into the next generation of leaders. The program pairs trainees’ unique qualities and skills with a fast-paced environment that provides mentoring from top leaders and early exposure to workplace responsibilities.
