Scherr is an agricultural and resource economist who specializes in integrated landscape management\, particularly agricultural landscape analysis and planning. In 2002\, she founded the nonprofit organization EcoAgriculture Partners and has since advocated for food security\, sustainable livelihoods\, and ecosystem services. In 2011\, she co-founded the global network “Landscapes for People\, Food and Nature” and in 2019\, she launched “1000 Landscapes for 1 Billion People\,” focusing on landscape regeneration. Dr. Scherr also serves on the boards of Bioversity International-USA and Solutions from the Land. She holds a PhD in international economics and development from Cornell University. \nJoern Fischer is a professor of sustainable landscapes at the Faculty of Sustainability at Leuphana University Lueneburg\, Germany. He is well known for his work in the sustainable development of social-ecological systems\, ecosystem services\, and integrating landscape ecology. Fischer is well published and has worked in Australia\, Romania\, and Ethiopia in fields ranging from conservation biology to governance and justice. He is an advocate and a strong believer in interdisciplinary collaboration. \nDr. Nora Fagerhold is an adjunct professor at the University of Turku and a research fellow and principal investigator of the Academy of Finland. She is also involved in the Horizon 2020 project CHARTER where she assesses herders’ livelihoods in the Arctic through land cover change analysis and participatory mapping. Dr. Fagerhold is well known for her expertise in public participation and participatory landscape research.
