Austria’s population is thus divided into “native Austrians” representing the majority\, the traditional ethnic minorities and new ethnic minorities with migration-background (Turks\, people from former Yugoslavia) having already naturalized or not yet. And since summer 2015 a fourth group of population with differing ethnicity/language/religion has shown up: refugees with 90.000 applications of asylum. This lecture gives an overview into the actual situation of traditional and new minorities\, migrants and refugees in Austria.\nAbout the Speaker: \nJasmine Dum-Tragut\, Assoc. Professor of Armenian Studies and General Linguistics and Director of the Center for the Study of the Christian East (ZECO) at Salzburg University (Austria). \nLanguage: English URL:https://newsroom.aua.am/event/psia-seminar-the-other-austrians-austrias-challenges-to-become-a-multiethnic-and-multicultural-state/ LOCATION:Small Auditorium\, 5th Floor\, 516M \, AUA Main Building\, 40 Marshal Baghramyan Ave\, Yerevan\, Armenia CATEGORIES:Events Calendar,Political Science & International Affairs ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://newsroom.aua.am/files/2018/10/PSIA_Unresolved_Conflict_FB.png END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
