About the Event:
Deep neural networks are revolutionizing the healthcare space by improving detection, diagnosis, treatment, and management of disease — just as they revolutionized the underlying fields of image recognition, speech recognition, and natural language processing. Moreover, researchers are applying deep learning approaches to drug development, diagnostic radiology, and personalized medicine.
The presentation will focus on deep learning in healthcare. In this talk, we will first take a big-picture look at the deep learning approaches that are practical and currently used across various healthcare disciplines. Further, we will do a deep dive into deep learning for drug discovery, especially for the step of the clinical trial.

About the Speaker:
Davit Shahnazaryan, ML scientist, was born in Yerevan, Armenia, and majored in Mathematics at Yerevan State University (YSU). While at YSU, he has been a visiting research student at KAUST, where he worked on symbolic PDE analysis using Mathematica. He has also held various software engineering and research positions at Wolfram Research, EGS, etc.
