About the Event: 

This talk focuses on various aspects of scholarly writing that more often than not guarantee success in the writing/publishing journey. The talk starts off by emphasizing the importance of selecting the right journal. It then focuses on key aspects of preparing a high-quality research paper, and finally addresses the issue of submitting/resubmitting the finished manuscript. The various ideas presented in this talk seek to not only enhance beginning writers’ chances of acceptance, but also make their work capture special attention from editors and reviewers.

About the Speaker:

Andrzej Cirocki, PhD, is Assistant Professor of English Language Education at the University of York, UK. He is a CELTA teacher and a CELTA teacher trainer. He has designed and delivered a wide range of professional development workshops to EFL teachers in diverse teaching contexts, including the Philippines, Jordan, Indonesia, India, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. His research interests relate to teaching English as a foreign language, EFL teacher education and professional development, and developing learner autonomy. In addition to being author of numerous publications, he is Editor-in-Chief of The European Journal of Applied Linguistics and TEFL. His monograph on Developing Learner Autonomy Through Tasks: Theory, Research, Practice was shortlisted for the European Society for the Study of English Book Awards in 2018.
