Startup Boost Weekend

 

Startup Boost Weekend is a 54 hour (Friday – Sunday) event during which students with different skill sets – software developers, business students, graphic designers, startup enthusiasts and more – come together to team up, and by the end of the event pitch ideas for new startup companies.

 

This free three-day event encourages a fun and engaging environment for changemaker students of all backgrounds. It’s for students who use their unique perspective, passion knowledge, and abilities to bring about change in their communities through entrepreneurship. Startup Boost Weekend creates a platform for students to gain insight and relevant, real-time experience for building and growing a startup while expanding their networks, portfolios, and resumes. Weekend activities include rapid-fire startup pitches, team formation, customer development, prototype building, UI/UX design, business model generation, mentor feedback from experts, and conclude with a Shark Tank-style pitching session.

This year Startup Boost Weekend fosters cooperative efforts partnering with four leading universities of Armenia:  AUA, Russian-Armenian University, Yerevan State University and National Polytechnic University of Armenia.

The event is organized by Entrepreneurship and Product Innovation Center at AUA and Catalyst Foundation, and is supported by EU4Business Support to SME Development (EU-SMEDA) Project, which is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ’s Private Sector Development in South Caucasus Programme.
