Mediation as an Alternative Dispute Resolution: Benefits and Advantages of Mediation

About the Event:
Elmer Goble will talk about characteristics of mediation, U.S. experience of applying mediation, court-annexed mediation and its impact on the courts’ workload.
About the Speaker:
Elmer Goble has been involved in the field of mediation for over 20 years. As a Senior Trainer for the nationally recognized Justice Center of Atlanta, he has taught mediation all over the United States, as well in Europe and Asia. The training classes are for judges, attorneys, federal agency personnel from almost every large government agency, private businesses and aspiring mediators.
When Goble is not teaching, he is usually mediating cases from several courts systems including Magistrate, State, Superior, Juvenile, Divorce, Probate and private cases. He does mediation because he feels his work helps people, including saving money for individuals and court systems as well as helping people to communicate more effectively during conflict.
Prior to his mediation experience, Goble’s work history has included managing a large adult volunteer program, managing a business development enterprise which served 10 franchises with over 3000 businesses, and coordinating service programs for international sporting events, including many of the Olympic Games since 1984.
