About the Event:
This workshop will examine human trafficking as a human rights violation rather than solely a criminal offence, exploring how states’ obligations extend beyond prosecution to include prevention, victim protection, and systemic responses addressing underlying vulnerabilities such as inequality, migration, and social exclusion. Particular focus will be placed on identification and referral pathways, highlighting the role of frontline professionals in detecting potential victims and ensuring timely, coordinated, and rights-based responses.
About the Speaker:
Sergey Ghazinyan is a human rights and anti-trafficking expert, and an adjunct lecturer at AUA.
