Topic for the first session: Curricular Principles of Armenia’s K-12 Education
 
Speaker: Mrs. Melanya Davtyan, Head, Training and Extracurricular Education Department, National Institute of Education (NIE), RA Ministry of Science and Education
 
Description: Mrs. Melanya Davtyan’s presentation will focus on the RA policy on public education covering preschool to 12th grades. She will discuss educational standards set by law, as well as their structure and functions. She will also talk about curricula, textbooks, assessment systems as required by legislation and policy. Her talk is the first in a series of seminars organized by the AUA Acopian Center for the Environment on the current situation in Armenia with respect to environmental education and education for sustainable development.
