Complex Trauma Within the Armenian Community

About the Event:
Dr. Yaralyan will address the ongoing effects of traumatic events on individuals and communities, with a special emphasis on the Armenian context. She will define and discuss issues related to complex trauma, with a focus on adaptation and survival.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Anna Yaralyan is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with more than 15 years’ experience providing mental health services to individuals, children, and families coming from different economic and cultural backgrounds. She currently works at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, where she develops mental health educational projects for the Armenian, Farsi, Russian and Arabic speaking Communities. Dr. Yaralyan completed her Dissertation on Domestic Violence within the Armenian Community and has extensive experience working with Domestic Violence Victims.
