Book Talk and Seminar: Populism in Foreign Policy Making
October 3, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm +04
About the Event:
The rise of populism and populist leaders in both developed and developing world has been producing effects well beyond domestic and electoral politics that beg for unemotional exploration. One such area is the making of foreign policy by populist leaders that affects relationships and alliances alike.
A New York Times bestselling book by Princeton University‘s Jan-Werner Mueller – “What is Populism?” – recently translated into Armenian by Dr. Hovhannes Nikoghosyan, adjunct lecturer at AUA Political Science and International Affairs program (PSIA), and released by Newmag publishing house, nicely explains the depth and width of populism in electoral and daily politics of various states.
In this book talk and seminar Dr. Nikoghosyan will touch upon the main pillars of the arguments made by Jan-Werner Mueller, and volunteer to explore the impact of that in the making of foreign policy by populist leaders around the world.
