About the Event:
The one-hour discussion will explore the features that distinguish arbitral proceedings from litigation and other forms of dispute resolution, with particular attention to procedural flexibility, party autonomy, the role of arbitral tribunals, counsel strategy, evidentiary practice, and the interaction between different legal traditions in international arbitration.
Designed as an open, interactive conversation, the meeting will allow the AUA ADR Clinic members and the wider AUA community to discuss how arbitral procedure operates in practice and engage directly with an experienced international arbitration practitioner and academic.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Hayk Kupelyants is an international lawyer with more than 15 years of professional and academic experience. Qualified in England, Wales, and Armenia, he is a solicitor of England and Wales and teaches private international law and arbitration at the King’s College London. He previously practiced international arbitration at leading U.S. law firms. Dr. Kupelyants holds a Ph.D. in law from the University of Cambridge, where he also taught at the Faculty of Law.
