YEREVAN, Armenia — On September 29, 2020, the Akian College of Science and Engineering (CSE) of the American University of Armenia (AUA), in cooperation with the SAS Institute, held the SAS Certification online exam as a culmination of the SAS training carried out earlier in the year.

In cooperation with the SAS Institute, AUA CSE organized SAS Programming 2020, a 16-week training course that provided valuable skills and knowledge of the field and enabled participants to take the SAS Institute Certification online exam as a part of the course.

SAS (Statistical Analysis System) is a software system for data inspection and report writing. SAS is a batch of programs that work together to reclaim data and reserve data values, reform data, evaluate complex and single exponential analyses, and generate reports. SAS is the main tool used in the pharmaceutical industry for statistical computing, data manipulation and visualization to generate FDA reports and submission packages.

“It was very hard to pass the exam from the first try and in a short time. However, I succeeded and I’m proud of that. I like SAS language and I use it a lot in my everyday work,” remarks Hasmik Derdzyan, who participated in the course and exam.

“Becoming a certified base programmer from the first try will motivate me to continue my journey with SAS,” mentions Karen Harutyunyan, another participant.

Today, SAS is gaining increased demand in the job market, urging more specialists to choose and excel in the field. AUA’s collaboration with the SAS institute aims to increase interest in the field among amateurs and enable them to become professionals in the field.
