TSAKHKADZOR, Armenia ‒ On November 27-30, 2018, students of the American University of Armenia’s (AUA) Master of Laws (LL.M.) Program participated in the Civil Law Fall School in Tsakhkadzor, organized by GIZ (German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation) Armenia.

Students from different universities of Armenia had the opportunity to participate in the Fall School where Dr. Rolf Knieper from the University of Bremen, Germany, introduced his ‘relation’ method of solving legal problems in Civil Law. He also talked about the main differences between Armenian and German law and court systems. Students learned diverse approaches to problem solving and interpretation of legal norms.

The Civil Law Fall School also served as a platform for participants to network with law students from different universities in Armenia.

Founded in 1991, the American University of Armenia (AUA) is a private, independent university located in Yerevan, Armenia, and affiliated with the University of California. AUA provides a global education in Armenia and the region, offering high-quality graduate and undergraduate studies, encouraging civic engagement, and promoting public service and democratic values.
