YEREVAN, Armenia ‒ On November 16, 2018, the Akian College of Science and Engineering (CSE) of the American University of Armenia (AUA) together with the AUA Admissions office participated in the Career and Entrepreneurship Fair at the Armenia Marriott Hotel, Yerevan. The event was organized in the scope of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) and supported by the Embassy of the United States in Armenia. The fair was intended to provide opportunities for employers and job seekers to meet one another and establish mutually beneficial relationships.

At the Career and Entrepreneurship Fair 2018, AUA presented its Undergraduate and Graduate programs, as well as job vacancies currently available at the University.

Running parallel to the fair, there were talks and training sessions by representatives of various organizations and inspirational leaders from diverse backgrounds and affiliations. Among those were two presentations by AUA CSE on the undergraduate and graduate programs in Engineering, Data Science and Industrial Engineering and Systems Management. Both presentations aimed at helping youth in choosing their future careers.

Many professions have emerged in the last decade. I believe it has become extremely important to give our younger generation as much information as possible on the wealth of new professional specialties that are now available and explain to them what each means. Also in the effort of helping students in their career choices, the Career and Entrepreneurship Fair offers a suitable platform not only for local companies to showcase their organizations, but also for universities to present the variety of career choices available and expand students’ views on potential career paths,” said Artur Khalatyan, AUA CSE instructor and industry liaison.

U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Rafik Mansour made opening remarks at the event. He explained the purpose of the event and expressed hope that this initiative will be fruitful, helpful and continuous.
