YEREVAN, Armenia — The American University of Armenia (AUA) is pleased to welcome Dr. Jennifer Tuman as an assistant professor in the Manoogian Simone College of Business and Economics (MSCBE).
Dr. Tuman earned an M.A. TESOL from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, an International M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business and Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, as well as an M.A. in Human and Organizational Systems and a Ph.D. in Human Development, both from Fielding Graduate University.
Dr. Tuman has 14 years of industry experience as an organizational development consultant, manager, coach, facilitator, and mentor. She has over a decade of teaching experience in different countries, including Japan, Poland, South Korea, North Macedonia, Bhutan, China, and Armenia. Committed to fostering inclusive and engaging learning environments, Dr. Tuman’s areas of expertise include leadership development, change management, coaching, and entrepreneurship.
Before joining AUA, she taught for two years at the Armenian State University of Economics, and her teaching approach is grounded in coaching and facilitation. “I get excited about helping people realize their potential, seeing possibilities, and growing personally,” she said. She focuses on developing students’ critical, analytical, strategic, and systems- thinking skills. “Because I have so much industry experience, everything I do is practical. I want people to leave with real-world work capabilities,” she emphasized.
During her Human Resources (HR) Management course last fall, she covered the role of HR in the workplace and how it directly impacts employees. “I try to pull back the curtain and show students, as employees or managers in the future, what it is that HR is doing behind the scenes, and how that is going to impact their working lives,” she noted.
Dr. Tuman is interested in exploring how people and organizations can thrive by bringing that concept into the classroom. She’s committed to helping students succeed by co-creating a safe environment where everyone has the opportunity to be heard, build confidence, and experience a sense of belonging. She is enthusiastic to share her knowledge and experience with AUA students and contribute to their academic and professional journey.
“I’m really excited to be working with people here; organizational and leadership development is my wheelhouse, my area of expertise,” she highlighted.
