YEREVAN, Armenia — The International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Armenia and the American University of Armenia Master of Laws program are pleased to invite applications for participation in the 2026 Regional Summer School on International Humanitarian Law (IHL).
This long-established joint program provides a unique opportunity for participants from the region and beyond to enhance their knowledge of IHL while expanding professional networks. The Summer School will dive into the vital role of IHL in addressing the multitude of challenges arising from armed conflicts worldwide, and will touch upon the intricate relationship between IHL and peace, highlighting the role of humanitarian organizations in this interplay.
This weeklong summer school on IHL is an intensive course designed for not only experienced lawyers with a knowledge of international law, but also for academics and students with an interest in developing a deeper understanding of the subject area. Since the course is relatively short, prospective participants should have a basic knowledge of IHL principles and rules and be able to apply them.
In addition, the summer school invites applications from advanced students and professionals from governmental and non-governmental organizations, who encounter tasks and challenges within the realm of international humanitarian law and its relevant applications.
Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications by June 3, 2026 11:59 p.m. (GMT).
The results of the selection process will be communicated to all candidates by June 10, 2026.
