TAVUSH, Armenia — The American University of Armenia (AUA) is pleased to highlight the success of the most recent Entrepreneurship Skills training completed on January 16, by 14 attendees from nine communities in Tavush. This 32nd entrepreneurship course was organized by AUA Extension’s Turpanjian Rural Development Program.

Representing diverse communities of Tavush, the training participants came forth with various interesting business ideas, including launching B&Bs and restaurants, establishing woodworking and sewing workshops, retail stores, and a bakery. According to participant testimonials, the training provided them with a solid foundation to turn their entrepreneurial ideas into viable business operations. The training course covered important aspects, such as development of business plans, including marketing, cash flow, and risk management components.

The training course served as a constructive medium for the participants to elaborate and implement very pragmatic and innovative approaches to making positive changes in their respective communities. The final days of the training included participant presentations before an independent jury and evaluation of their business plans. This process will allow the participants to improve their plans and also develop new networking opportunities.

Consequently, TRDP will assist these businesses in the establishment of their respective businesses, as planned.

The AUA Turpanjian Rural Development Program offers training, funding, and mentorship to new and existing businesses in rural communities across Shirak, Tavush, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik, Lori, and Ararat provinces of Armenia.
