As I reflect on my academic, work, and extracurricular journey at the American University of Armenia (AUA), I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude and accomplishment. Starting the Bachelor’s in Business program entirely online was not without its challenges, but it was the spark that ignited my passion for engaging deeply with the AUA community once we returned to campus.
Becoming a peer mentor marked the beginning of what would become an enriching adventure. My involvement did not stop there. I was fortunate enough to lead the operations team for TEDxAUA 2023, spearhead the Peer Mentoring Program in 2023-24, represent AUA as a student ambassador, and even establish the AUA Live Talks lub. Each of these roles not only allowed me to contribute to our vibrant campus life, but also helped me cultivate a diverse skill set and grow both personally and professionally. Through AUA Live Talks, we fostered an environment in which students and faculty could engage in meaningful dialogues, enhancing the intellectual fabric of our community.
My commitment to making a difference did not go unnoticed by my professors. My active participation in class discussions led to opportunities to collaborate on research projects with professors at the University’s Center for Business Research and Development (CBRD), furthering my academic and professional growth. One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey at AUA has been discovering my passion for teaching. As a teaching associate, working closely with freshman students, I have found great joy in facilitating their learning experiences and contributing to their academic success.
My time at AUA has been incredibly fulfilling, marked by growth, learning, and an unwavering commitment to contributing positively to our community. Every student at the University enjoys access to the same tools and resources, but the crucial element is knowing how to make good use of these in order to prosper both as a student and a professional. As I look back on these last four years, I am full of appreciation for these life-changing experiences and filled with hope to become the changemaker I aspire to be.
