2 min read

YEREVAN, Armenia — On May 12 and 13, students of the American University of Armenia (AUA) Political Science and International Affairs (PSIA) graduate program participated in an annual Student Conference organized by Artsakh State University (ASU). The conference was held on the ASU campus and dedicated to the memory of student heroes of the 2020 war. Presenting research papers at the conference were Davit Serobyan (M PSIA’ 23), Lusine Grigoryan (M PSIA ‘23), Knarik Jalatyan (M PSIA ‘23), Mikayel Badalyan (M PSIA ‘23), Anna Harutyunyan (M PSIA ‘23) and Syuzanna Kamalyan (M PSIA ‘23).

“It was a wonderful experience participating in the Student Conference dedicated to the 45 Day War Heroes at ASU. Meeting with the students of Artsakh and sharing academic experiences with them was an opportunity to strengthen the inter-university partnership and student connections across our homeland. We are looking forward to our next visit to Artsakh,” said Serobyan.

Another student, Badalyan, added, “ASU exceeds all expectations as an educational institution ready to undertake new challenges and develop in the field of academia. I strongly encourage the students of AUA to look for and create new prospects for academic cooperation between our universities.”

“Our visit to Artsakh was important not only because of the conference in which we participated, but also for witnessing the unbreakable willpower of our peers at ASU to stay in their homeland and strive to cure its wounds. Their confidence was highly motivating, and I believe we will have other opportunities to collaborate with them in future events, held in Stepanakert or Yerevan, to advance our mutual interests,” added Jalatyan.

The Political Science and International Affairs (PSIA) program of the American University of Armenia (AUA) equips students with advanced analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and communication skills through the study of political science and international affairs, emphasizing local and global perspectives and practical applications of theory. The program provides world-class teaching and research, producing graduates who can best contribute to the development of the nation.
