EIH Program Launches Scientific Discussion Series in Health

< 1 min read

Serving as a unique bridge between Armenia and the Diaspora, the Entrepreneurs in Health (EIH) program launched a Scientific Discussion Series creating a new platform for health professionals to share their experiences and drive attention to important health-related topics.

Dr. Haroutune Armenian, President Emeritus of the American University of Armenia (AUA), founding Dean of the AUA Turpanjian School of Public Health (SPH), and chair of the EIH program, held the first discussion on April 13, 2021. Dr. Armenian shared his and others’ experiences, bringing specific examples of how embracing a research perspective could help enrich clinical practice, improve the quality of provided care, and sometimes be the basis of innovation in the medical and public health fields.

Over 60 guests participated in the session, including EIH program beneficiaries, AUA Master of Public Health students, alumni and faculty, representatives from different AUA units, as well as colleagues and friends.

“Under the current difficult situation, and regardless of our political position, we must develop a positive course of action, primarily for our own mental and spiritual health,” summed up Dr. Armenian at the conclusion of the session.

The aim of EIH is to improve access to quality health services in rural communities of Armenia, Artsakh, and Javakhk through the introduction of advanced technologies and innovative approaches supporting healthcare professionals to develop private health practices.

The AUA Turpanjian School of Public Health works actively to improve population health and health services in Armenia and the region through interdisciplinary education and development of public health professionals to be leaders in public health, health services research, evaluation, health care delivery, and management.
