Entrepreneurship Summer Festival 2020: Reimagine Your Future

YEREVAN, Armenia – The American University of Armenia’s (AUA) Entrepreneurship and Product Innovation Center (EPIC) in partnership with EU4Business Innovative Tourism and Technology Development for Armenia project and other universities in Armenia invited students, experienced entrepreneurs, or anyone with an interest in startups and entrepreneurship to join the Entrepreneurship Summer Festival 2020 (ESF2020).
The festival was held from 17-23 August, 2020 and combined lectures, workshops, talks, and seminars in both Armenian and English. The ESF2020 offered an opportunity to choose an entire track or only a couple of lectures of interest, and to get venture knowledge and career inspiration from the top thought leaders in the Armenian startup ecosystem.
The theme of the ESF2020 was “Reimagining Your Future.” This theme sought to promote the philosophy of career and professional flexibility – the idea that one can modify and redirect their career trajectories while simultaneously considering the possibility of taking an entrepreneurial route. The ESF2020 closed with “The Future Innovator” competition, which offered technical and pitching mentorship to startup teams or individuals. The winners received prizes from the supporting partners: EU4Business Technology Development for Armenia project, PicsArt Armenia, and Webb Fontaine Armenia.
The ESF2020 is supported by the EU4Business Innovative Tourism and Technology Development for Armenia project, which is co-funded by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by German Development Cooperation GIZ through the Private Sector Development and TVET South Caucasus Programme. The project is part of the EU4Business initiative of the European Union.
The ESF2020 is organized by the Entrepreneurship and Product Innovation Center which is the American University of Armenia’s on-campus startup incubator that helps students, alumni, and other entrepreneurs advance their ventures from idea to success. EPIC provides an environment for emerging entrepreneurs that consists of first-class facilities and collaboration space, programs and events, and a network of mentors, advisors, and investors.
The ESF2020 University partners are the American University of Armenia Zaven & Sonia Akian College of Science & Engineering, Brusov State University, Armenian National Agrarian University, Russian-Armenian University, National Polytechnic University of Armenia and Armenian State University of Economics.
The ESF2020 partners are PicsArt Armenia, Webb Fontaine Armenia, Berkeley SkyDeck and Strategic Value Ventures.
