CSE Hosts the XI International Conference of Mathematical Physics

YEREVAN, Armenia – On September 2-7, 2019, the Akian College of Science and Engineering (CSE) of the American University of Armenia (AUA) hosted the XI international conference of mathematical physics, titled “Stochastic and Analytic Methods in Mathematical Physics.” The conference was organized by the Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (RA) and was dedicated to the memory of famous Soviet and Russian mathematician Robert Adol’fovich Minlos (28 February 1931 — 9 January 2018).

The conference offered an excellent opportunity for exchanging ideas and information that will contribute to the overall development of mathematical physics in Armenia. It attracted about 50 local and international participants, including Rafayel Barkhudaryan (Yerevan), Anatoly Aristov (Moscow), Volker Betz (Darmstadt), Rodolfo Figari (Napoli), Gian Michele Graf (Zurich), Sabine Jansen (Munich), Daniel Parra (Tokyo), Daniel Ueltschi (Warwick), Alexander Zass (Potsdam) and others. This year’s conference mainly focused on classical and quantum statistical physics, quantum dynamics, and applications of point processes in statistical physics.

In his opening remarks, AUA CSE Dean Dr. Aram Hajian welcomed the participants to AUA and Armenia: “At AUA we strongly encourage as a part of our own mission the integration and the mutual support of teaching, applied engineering topics that we focus on and scientific research. This conference is a good opportunity for these communities to get together and interact.”
