MSSM ’19 Students Complete Capstone Consulting Projects

YEREVAN, Armenia – This summer students graduating from the Master of Science in Strategic Management (MSSM) program of the American University of Armenia (AUA) completed their capstone projects culminating their master’s studies with consulting experiences. Students had the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained from various AUA courses in real-life projects for local and international organizations, including Fora LLC, IDeA Foundation, Vardanants Center for Innovative Medicine, Philip Morris Armenia, Rosgosstrakh Armenia, Aparteny Wines, and Mega Food LLC.

In small groups, MSSM students completed various consulting projects ranging from market research, strategy analysis to business plan development and forecasting using real data. The topics covered a broad range of issues, including social impact measurement; comparative analysis of exit interviews; marketing and product promotion strategy development with special emphasis on digital marketing tools; environmental research pertaining to a specific market in Armenia; and development of key performance indicators for use by various corporate departments. The topics were carefully chosen to address organizational situations of significance to meet the needs of the respective clients.

During the entire process, the students demonstrated enthusiasm and were very engaged, taking into consideration even the most diminutive demand/request on our part. Due to their utmost mature attitude they were able to make clear notion of Company the needs of our company and develop the best possible solutions within a short time,” remarked Liana Khorenyan, head of HR Department at Mega Food LLC.

Partnering with AUA for the first time, Vardanants Center for Innovative Medicine and Fora LLC were impressed by the motivation and determination of AUA students to analyze the market despite many challenges. Karine Hovhannisyan, head of HR at Fora LLC, observed, “We were glad to share our experience and vision about the future development of the Armenian automobile industry. Overall, the team did a great job and their work will contribute to the development of the industry in RA.”
