Erasmus+ Exchange Student from SKEMA Reflects on Her Spring Semester at AUA2 min read
The American University of Armenia (AUA) welcomed Manon Deparis, an Erasmus+ exchange student from SKEMA Business School, France, in the Spring 2019 semester. Deparis shares the educational and cultural experience she had during the months spent in Armenia.
“The Armenian education system is particularly refreshing for me because of the major changes the Armenian society is now undergoing. It seems like the country offers plenty of possibilities for the future. AUA definitely plays a role in the mutation of the Armenian society thanks to its programs, conferences and by being outward-looking,” she remarked.
Despite the considerable differences between the education system of AUA and SKEMA, Deparis managed to adapt to the new environment quite well. She took advantage of the resources available at AUA and made progress in her studies. She took a full-time course load. The courses taken at AUA have added a new dimension to the knowledge she had accumulated. They helped Deparis choose her specialization for the second year of her master’s studies: she intends to specialize in Data Analysis and Project Management.
Besides enjoying her academic life at AUA, Deparis also found time to explore the Armenian culture: “It is amazing to have the opportunity to discover the history of the region. Thanks to Armenian hospitality, the people I met I had and the beauty of the country, I felt at home after the first couple of weeks in Armenia.”
