Gevorg_LSE-photo1YEREVAN, Armenia – American University of Armenia (AUA) Political Science & International Affairs (PSIA) 2015 alumnus Gevorg Sahakyan has been admitted to London School of Economics and Political Science. He has received scholarships from the LSE Graduate Support Scheme, the AGBU Foundation, and from philanthropists Edward Misserlian and Henri Khacahaturyan. He will start his studies from the Fall 2016 academic semester.

“My studies at AUA PSIA helped me to adapt to the Western educational system and reinforce my analytical skills. My Master’s essay at PSIA was on “The Impact of Socio-Economic Factors on Migration in the Republic of Armenia.” While working on my essay, I gained academic and practical insights about hotly debated phenomenons that related to my current studies at LSE, such as “International Migration and Public Policy”. I have chosen Migration studies since I consider it the number one problem in the Republic of Armenia. After my studies at LSE, I plan to come back to Armenia, where I am going to be engaged in teaching and sharing my expertise on migration with others. Thus, the general direction of my career will be to fill in the vacuum of experts in this field and suggest improvements. I would like to extend my special thanks to Edward Misserlian and Henri Khacahaturyan for giving me this opportunity to continue my study at LSE.”

The PSIA program wishes Gevorg all the success in his future studies at LSE and hopes that his experience at this renowned institution will help him acquire new skills for future career achievements.
