AUA Students Bring Home Medals from the International Mathematics Competition for Students in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria

< 1 min read

BLAGOEVGRAD, Bulgaria – While we are proud of our students’ accomplishments and participation in this competition, we should clarify that of the 320 participants, 71 received 1st place (gold medal), 71 received 2nd place (silver medal), 91 received 3rd place (bronze medal), and the remaining 87 were awarded honorable mentions or certificates at the International Mathematics Competition for Students.

Two students from the American University of Armenia (AUA) participated in the competition. Artyom Kosyan, a fourth year student in BBA received a silver medal, and Levon Stepanyan, a fourth year BCS received a bronze medal. Considering that AUA does not have a mathematics department, this ranking among international universities by our Business and Computer Sciences students is commendable.

Founded in 1991, the American University of Armenia (AUA) is a private, independent university located in Yerevan, Armenia and affiliated with the University of California. AUA provides US-style education in Armenia and the region, offering high-quality, graduate and undergraduate studies, encouraging civic engagement, and promoting public service and democratic values.
